| The St. Sargis Day is celebrated on sixty three days, before Easter. St. Sargis is one of the most beloved saints in the nation. St. Sargis is the patron saint of young lovers. The holiday dedicated to St. Sargis was greatly anticipated. It was mainly celebrated with families. This holiday is very popular among the youth. Many young people gathered together to celebrate St. Sargis’ day. Several gifted young people, members of PAP were encouraged within the frames of this event. After the tradition the young people fasting all day, they eat a piece of salty bread. It is specially baked them. They were to drink no water and the person who would give them a cup of water in the dream was believed to be their future wife/husband. The ceremony is followed by traditional songs and dances around the fire. |
