| The Heroes day is celebrates the different countries in different dates. The National Heroes Day is celebrated on December 9th of each year in Antigua. The Rt. Hon. Dr. Sir Vere Cornwall Bird was leader of Antigua Labour Party and son of the country’s first National Hero. He is fight for the freedom of Antigua people. He addressed the traditional Wreath Laying Ceremony at the bust of the Rt. Hon. Dr. Sir Vere Cornwall Bird, Monday Morning. The ALP Leader also joined his counterparts in calling on the government to reconsider returning V.C Bird Day on 9th December. The name was changed to National Heroes to celebrate the sterling contributions of the other national heroes. Antigua’s international airport first named is Coolidge, changed their name was V.C. Bird International Airport in his honour. |
