| The Carinthian Plebiscite is celebrated on October 10th of every year in Austria. It was the issue of the state border between Slovenia. Austria had not been solved by the allied armistice with the Austro-Hungarian Empire after the First World War. New states arose on its territory. In 1918 an internationally recognized the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs. Determination of borders between the new countries was a problematic issue that was not always solved peacefully. In closing days of World War 1 become an issue. The plebiscite took place in the A zone on October 10, 1920 with 22,025 votes for Austria and 15,279 for the other option. After World War I Austria determined the border between Austria and the newly formed Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes on 1920, October 10th. So the Austrian people celebrate the Carnithain Plebiscite on October 10th. |
