The Burundi and Rwanda became a European colony known as Ruanda-Urundi. In middle 20th century the Tutsi and Hutu, provoking civil war in Burundi. Now presently, Burundi is governed as a presidential representative democratic republic. Republic Day is the name of a public holiday in several countries to commemorate the day when they became republics.
