| The Language Martyr’s Day is celebrated on February 21st of every year in Bangladesh. It is a national holiday of Bangladesh. It is very special day of Bangladesh. The Language Martyr’s day is also called as International Mother Language Day. On February 21, 1952, a large group of protesters gathered in Dhaka to urge the Pakistani government to recognize their language. In November 1999, a general conference of UNESCO declared February 21st to be International Mother Language Day. On this day they establish Bangla as one of the state languages of the Pakistan. The day has since been observed as the Language Martyrs Day. When Bangladesh became independent in 1971, Language Martyrs' Day became a national holiday. Today the Bangladesh people were celebrates with bring flowers, mainly in red and yellow, which are spread out in front of the monument. |
