| In 1996, July 3rd is the official Independence Day of Belarus. In this day young people detest this date and the way the state organizes the “celebrations” to commemorate it. The Belarusian Popular Front, so instrumental in achieving the sovereignty, failed to become the dominant political force in the country. The declaration of independence of Belarus was signed on July 27, 1990. The Belarus got independence after 70 years of the Soviet Union and its destructive activities towards the Belarusian nation.
