| In 1995 June 7th, the current national flag of Belarus is adopted for following the results of voted on by the people of Belarus. In 1918 the Belarus people were designed a historical flag, this is replaced that one. In 1991 Belarus was gained its independence. The current flag is a modification of the 1951 flag used while the country was a republic of the Soviet Union. That flag is used in protests against the government and by certain elements of Belarusian diaspora. The Flag Day is celebrated in Belarus second Sunday in May. |
