| The Baron Bliss Day is celebrated on March 9th of each year in Belize. It is a public holiday of Belize. The day observed to dearth day of Baron Bliss. He is the fourth kingdom of the Portugal. Baron Bliss, a great benefactor of Belize, is honored with a day in his name and nationwide festivities. The Baron died before he changed his will, leaving almost $2 million dollars to Belize in a trust fund. The fund is used for the benefit of Belizeans and has made possible the building of the Bliss Institute Library and Museum in Belize City, health clinics and markets around the country, and has helped with the Belize City water supply system. He is died on March 9th, 1926. So Belize celebrates Baron Bliss Day each March 9 in his honour. The whole country celebrates such as a harbour regatta, cycle, canoe and horse races in this day. |
