| On January 20th Brazilians are celebrates the Saint Sebastian Day. Saint Sebastian is the patron saint of the city of Rio. His day, they celebrate to a festival of anniversary of the city. This festival celebrates for three days which includes street stalls, bingo, bands and the last day (the 20th) the famous procession through the streets. A religious procession is central to the occasion, in which an effigy of the saint is carried from the Saint Sebastian church in Tijuca to the Metropolitan Cathedral. It all started when the patron saint of athletes. |
