| The Emancipation day is celebrated on August 1st of every year in Barbados. It is honoured as a national hero and statue of him stands on what’s known as Emancipation Roundabout in St Michael. It is celebrated in remembrance of the real fight for freedom for people. At this time we remember the people who were born and died being enslaved in many different countries never knowing freedom but who never gave up the struggle. Every year celebrate the day of Emancipation Day as abolition of slavery is held on spot with parades, speeches, educational displays and cultural performances. |
