Dashaim is celebrated in Nepal, Bhutan and Indian states of Sikkim and the Darjeeling district of west Bengal. this festival is observed between the months of September to October after the rice harvest. Is also a national holiday in Bhutan. On this day every one will be gather together and celebrates. This festival is mix of Hindu tantric and animistic harvest traditions. The first day of the festival is called Ghatasthapana, on this day one worship room is setup and used to worship of Astha-Matrikas and Nava Durgas, with whom the complete festival is concerned. For next fifteen days of festival married woman will say the mantras. Barley is sowed in big pots filled with sand and wait till the barleys will sprout in ten days. After this festival family members place these sprouts on head as a blessing.
