| National day is observed on 17th of December commemoration of the accession of Gongsar Ugyen Wangchuk, the first king of Bhutan to the throne, at Punakha Dzong. In December 17th 1907 Bhutan was formed by the Wangchuk Dynasty. British government singed a treaty with Bhutan In 1910. King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck formed a 130 member national assembly to promote a more governance from of government. |
