| The Full Moon of Tabaung is observed on March 21st of every year in Burma. It is the month of pagoda festivals. In that time the people ware look farward to leisurely days in enjoyment. Each month of the Burmese calendar is marked by a festival and Tabuang festival is marked by the building of sand stupas. In this time for towns folks it is the opportunity to take a few days off work and visit relatives in other parts of the country. For paddy farmers it is a well earned rest after bringing in the harvest. Boat races are held during the festival and on the last day. It is the one of the most spectacular festivities in Myanmar. |
