| Fat Thursday is celebrated on the last Thursday before Lent. This is a traditional festival with religious origins which is celebrated in Poland and Germany. People eat big amounts of sweets and cakes that are afterwards forbidden until Easter. The most popular sweets during Fat Thursday are ‘paczki’ or ‘faworki’ also called ‘chrust’ in some regions.
