| About Independence Day |
| The Independence Day is celebrated on October 10th of every year in Cuba. The Cuba was formal independence gained from Spain on May 20th, 1902. The current Cuban regime does not celebrate May 20th, but instead October 10th as the first declaration of independence. Today, the Cuban people continue to live under tyranny, and their struggle goes on. Today they have occasion to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and deep-rooted traditions of the Cuban people. It is in our national interest to support their aspirations and oppose those of the Castro regime, one that harbors fugitives from U.S. justice. After fifty six years Cuba owned their independence from Spain. This is a commemoration day. It is a public holiday of Cuba. |
