| The National Heroes Day is celebrated on fourth Monday in January in every year of the Cayman Islands. This is the traditional elements of the grand occasion. In this day celebrates uniform parades, special awards and laying of wreaths for those gone before us. No more then 50 years ago Cayman was a small little island (still is) with very little in terms of material wealth. With this tradition Caymanian's became internationally known as great seaman and were highly sought after. These men are now celebrated on National Heroes Day for their contribution to the growth of The Cayman Islands. It is also a time for remembrance as we pay tribute to our forefathers, the brave men and women of Cayman's soil whose enterprising spirit and stout-hearted character prevailed in the face of often cruel adversity. Today children are enjoy and moving tones and the musical mastery of the internationally acclaimed Brass Band of Battle Creek. Today is the traditional element for Cayman Island. |
