| Peace Festival is the festival celebrate in Germany on August 8th annually. Peace Festival has the Local Name "Friedensfest", is the Germany name. Peace is a term that most commonly refers to an absence of aggression, violence or hostility, but which also represents a larger concept wherein there are healthy or newly-healed interpersonal or international relationships, safety in matters of social or economic welfare, the acknowledgment of equality and fairness in political relationships and, in world matters, peacetime; a state of being absent of any war or conflict. Reflection on the nature of peace is also bound up with considerations of the causes for its absence or loss. Among these potential causes are: insecurity, social injustice, economic inequality, political and religious radicalism, and acute nationalism. The German Global Peace Festival was billed as "clean," with no alcohol, no smoking and no drugs. It was designed to appeal to young adults, and musicians in the eight bands were in their teens and early twenties. The Festival also celebrate in starting in France on September 6 and including Germany, Albania, the United Kingdom, and Spain. The German Festival was preceded by an eight-day peace walk made by two groups, one from the north, Herdorf, the other from the south, near Heidelberg, ending in Bad Camberg, where UPF-Germany has a center. They slept mainly in youth hostels, covering about 20 km a day, meeting mayors and the media, and visiting the religious centers of a number of faiths. There were 80 participants, representing the eight Millennium Development Goals. |
