| About Dia de Reyes |
| The Dia De Reyes is also called as the Epiphany. It is a Christian feast. It is observed on January 6th of each year i.e 12th day after Christmas. The observance had its origins in the Eastern Christian churches and was originally a general celebration of the Incarnation of Jesus Christ. The date of the feast in the early days was fixed on January 6th. This is the most important date in the Greek Orthodox calendar. Western Christians commemorate the visitation of the Biblical Magi to the child Jesus on this day. It is a Christian feast day which celebrates the revelation of God in human form in the person of Jesus Christ. The Armenian Apostolic Church still continues to celebrate January 6th as the only commemoration of the Nativity. The East continued to celebrate January 6 as a composite feast, only later adopting December 25th to commemorate both Jesus' birth and the coming of the Magi, but leaving January 6 as a commemoration of his Baptism. |
