About Anniversary of Start of Armed Struggles
The Anniversary of Start of Armed Struggles is observed on September 1st of each year in Eritrea. The Eritrean struggle for independence experienced numerous challenges especially since the start of the armed struggle in September 1st, 1961. Most of the events of the second decade in the relentless national liberation struggle of our people pertained to the accomplishments of the emergent national democratic forces. The struggle for the unity of all forces with genuine interest in Eritrea's national independence, social liberation and progress is a central factor in the victory of the Revolution. Many people in Eritrea at that time were becoming aware of the armed struggle. The Eritrea soldiers in the Sudanese Army joined the unit by late 1961.
