| About Independence Day |
| Independence Day of Finland is celebrated on 6th December of each year. After the revolutions in Russia the movement for Finland's Independence started. Celebrations begin with the hoisting of the national flag and singing the national anthem, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony. The whole country gathers in public Places around bonfires and listens to speeches about the Independence Day of the country. On this day the Finnish Defense Forces plan a military parade in one of the garrison cities. |
