| VE Day is celebrated on May 7th and May 8th every Year. VE Day can be popularly known as Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day or VE Day). It is the massive celebration of millions of European People for the end of European War. It is the day of unconditional surrender of the armed forces of Nazi Germany. And also it is the day of end of live of Adolf Hitler's. The world war begins in 1939. On April, 30 Hitler committed suicide during the Battle for Berlin, and hence the surrender of Germany was authorized by the replacement of President of Germany. With it came the end of six years of misery, suffering, courage and endurance across the world. German collapse came after the meeting of the Western and Russian armies at Torgau in Saxony. The unconditional surrender of Germany was signed at Reims on May 7 and ratified at Berlin on May 8. VE Day finally arrived on May 8, 1945 after fierce efforts by the allied forces. In Canda, the president announced “We may allow ourselves a brief period of rejoicing, but let us not forget for a moment the toils and efforts that lie ahead. Japan, with all her treachery and greed, remains unsubdued.” He then declared “Victory in Europe Day,” soon shortened to VE-Day. The Soviet Union proclaimed what it called “Victory Day” would begin at midnight, May 9. |
