| St Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17 in every year. St. Patrick's Day is the Roman Catholic Feast day and this day is celebrated in commemoration with St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. He lived in the year of A.D. 387-461 in Britain. His parents were Calpurnius and Conchessa were either Scotland or Wales as told by different people of Rome in different versions. He was captured at the age of 13 and spent his life in slavery by herding sheep. After that he returned to Ireland as a missionary among Pegans at the age of 30. He explained the concept of Trinity with Shamrock plant and brought the Latin alphabet to Ireland with his preaching. St Patrick’s Day is usually celebrated by wearing green, eating green food and even drinking green beer. According to legend it is believed that St Patrick died on March 17 in 461AD. It is a national holiday in Ireland, and on the island of Montserrat in the Caribbean and bank holiday in Northern Ireland and a provincial holiday in the Canadian province of Newfoundland. Hundreds and thousands of people come to Dublin for seeing the parade on St. Patrick’s Day that will be organized every year. |
