| Farmer’s Day is observed on First Friday of December in Ghana. Workers across Ghana were given a day of rest. It is a public holiday. The first Farmers" Day in Ghana was held at Osino in the Eastern Region in 1985. Traditionally, agriculture has been of critical and strategic importance in the national economy and a focal point for national development efforts. Its celebrations were held in Nkawie in the Ashanti Region to mark the contribution of the agricultural sector to the country and its economy. |
