About Clean Monday
In Eastern Orthodox Churches Clean Monday is treated as a season of lent. In Greece this day is besides public holiday and treated traditionally with great celebration. Clean Monday is also called as pure Monday or Ash Monday which speaks about forgetting their sinful acts and maintain fast. On this day most of the Christians follow the lent season they will start their fast from mid-night to till the noon and they are not suppose to eat meat on these lent days. In Greece the celebrations starts on the first day of the spring. The Greeks will celebrate this feast by less fasting and more outdoor and entertainment activities. On this occasion most of the Greeks clean their cars and like to move to the city out skirts to enjoy this day.
