| The Three Holy Hierarchs are, Basil the Great (known as Basil of Caesarea), Gregory the Theologian (known as Gregory of Nazianzus) and John Chrysostom were treated the highly capable and powerful Bishops who were played an important role in bringing up the church and the congregation. The three holy Hierarchs were called as Three Great Hierarchs and Ecumenical Teachers in Eastern Christianity while in Roman Catholicism they were called as Doctors of the Church. They were also honoured as saints Eastern Orthodoxy, Catholicism, Anglicanism and other Christian churches. During eleventh century there were some controversies taken place among the three hierarchs in Constantinople as who is the best and they have to appear in front of St. John Mauropous, Bishop of Euchaita in the year 1084 on June fourteenth or October fifth and said that, “they were all equal before god and there is no differentiation between them and thus the conflict lasted in peace. During the conflict The Emperor Alexius Comnenus from (1081-1118) raised a controversial matter that who among the three hierarchs were more spiritual, powerful and having more knowledge in faith and most of them voted for Basil besides Gregory and john because he was the best among the three to explain the mysteries of faith.
