| In Guatemala Army Day is celebrated on June 30th. It is remembered because in 1871 the Liberal Revolution or "Revolution Liberal" led by Miguel Garcia Granados and Just Rufino Barrios. For the previous 136 years this has also been the occasion for a military parade throughout the capital city. Today marched on the streets of Guatemala City putting an end to the thirty year government of Rafael Carrera. |
