| Guatemala Independence Day is celebrated on September 15th of each year. In 1821 September 15th Guatemala gained its independence from Spain. It is a national holiday of Guatemala. In this special day the children, other people sell various flags in the streets of Guatemala. Today the student assemblies they sing the national anthem. . As the day comes to a close children and adults can be seen waving small plastic Guatemalan flags in the streets. Independence is central to Common Hope’s work far beyond celebrations on September 15th. |
