It is a traditional festival of China. Also known as Autumn Remembrance, this festival is similar to Ching Ming in the spring. The Chung Yeung Festival is a day to respect and remember ancestors, a ritual that is widely followed in Hong Kong among the Chinese community. During the festival, many people visit the graves of family members to perform cleansing rites and pay their respects. Traditionally, people go climbing on the Chung Yeung Festival. This custom come into story from the Han Dynasty tells of a man named Huan Ching. The man obeyed, and found upon returning home that all living things had died during their absence. Today stores sell rice cakes inserted with mini colorful flags to represent zhuyu. The day is a national holiday.
