| About Carnival |
| Carnival marks the beginning of one the holiest times of the year. Haitian people have celebrated Carnival for almost 200 years now. In February the Haitian government gives three days to celebrate the Carnival. Carnival in Haiti concludes on the day of Mardi-Gras, also known as Fat-Tuesday. The Wednesday that follows Mardi-Gras, is known as Ash Wednesday. The Haiti Carnival is marked by the spectacular parades that feature floats, pageants, masked balls, elaborate costumes, seductive music and great dancing on the streets. Carnival is much more than a large part is the cultural glue that binds people together. It commences the celebration of the miracle of the life of Christ. |
