| Vertieres Day is observed on November 18th of every year in Haiti. This date is a national holiday in Haiti. This is the last major battle of the Second War of Haitian Independence. It was fought between Haitian rebels and French expeditionary forces on November 18, 1803 at Vertières. The Exhibit will host a day of lectures and discussions on the Haitian revolution and its impact on freedom. As a result Haiti's eventual march towards independence on 1 January, 1804. |
