| Iraqi Republic Day is celebrated on July 14th of every year. Republic of Iraq is also known as the Mesopotamia. The reinstated Hashemite monarchy lasted until 1958, when it was overthrown by a coup d'etat of the Iraqi Army, known as the 14 July Revolution. The coup ended the Iraqi Hashemite dynasty and usher in the era of the Iraqi Republic, as well as precipitated social and economic reform in the state of Iraq. |
