| About Shrove Tuesday |
| Shrove Tuesday is a movable festival of Iceland. Today many other countries, the festival were widely associated with the eating of rich foods made with eggs, sugar and butter, such as pancakes. The term "Shrove Monday" or "Shrove Tuesday" are no longer widely used in the United States outside of Liturgical Traditions, such as the Lutheran, Episcopal, and Roman Catholic Churches. In addition to today providing a little meat, the collops were also the source of the fat for the following day's pancakes. |
