Abdullah II was became king on February 7th 1999 after his father, late King Hussein passed away who has born on January 30th, 1962 is the eldest son of Hussein. In 1960s King Hussein decided to appoint his brother, Prince Hassan bin Talal as his heir. In 1980s the king arranging the throne to pass to his brother and then to his son Ali, but his mind changed, and then he considered to appoint one of his nephews as heir, but he died on 25 January 1999 and appointed Abdullah as his heir. Abdullah became king on 7 February 1999, upon his father King Hussein death, replacing Hussein’s brother Hassan, served many year in this position. King Abdullah is the head of constitutional monarchy. The king Abdullah discusses with Pope John Paul II about the peace, tolerance and coexistence and work together with Muslims and Christians. |
