Kenyatta Day is a day celebrating the Kenya’s freedom, named after their founding president Jomo Kenyatta. Kenyatta Day is renamed as Heroe’s Day. The Kenyatta Day celebrates on October 20 in Kenya. Until 1880s the country Kenya is not known to the world. Jomo Kenyatta was an African, who was the first prime Minister and president of an Independent Kenya. He is father of Kenyan Nation. Kenyatta was born in the East African highlands in the late 1980`s. Jomo Kenyatta, leader of the Kenyan independence movement, by British colonial authorities after nearly nine years of imprisonment. After Two years of release of imprisonment, Kenya achieved independence and Kenyatta became prime minister. He was a member of the Kenya`s largest Kikuyu ethnic group. During World War II, he lived in England. In 1952, an extremist Kikuyu group called Mau Mau began a guerrilla war against the settlers and colonial government. In 1960, the Kenya African National Union (KANU) was organized by black nationalists, and Kenyatta was elected president in absentia. The party announced it would not take part in any government. In 1962, he went to London to negotiate Kenyan independence.
