| Laos celebrates the “Army Day” on 20th January every Year. Several nations of the world hold an annual Armed Forces Day to recognize, venerate and honor their military forces. It is similar to the Veterans Day of the United States or the Remembrance Day in many other nations. It is a part of activities to mark the Anniversary of Lao People's Army Day. This day causes to provide encouragement and strength for the people of the entire country in general and the armed forces in particular to continue to be prepared to serve the cause of national defence and development. The monumental inauguration ceremony took place the day before the Anniversary of the foundation of the Lao People's Army. The Lao People's Army was established on January 20, 1949. |
