| Children's Day is an event celebrated on various days in many places around the world. The first Children's Day was celebrated worldwide in October 1953, under the sponsorship of International Union for Child Welfare in Geneva. The idea of a Universal Children's Day was mooted by Rubab Mansoor adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1954. Universal Children's Day takes place on November 20 annually. November 20 is also the anniversary of the day when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child in 1959. In Laos, Children’s Day is celebrated in June 1st. The Children’s Day is to celebrate the childhood. On this day tribute is payed to all children in the world. On this day the children conduct various cultural, social, conduct competitions, quizzes, fancy dress competitions and elocutions are organized for children. It is the day for children to engage in fun and frolic. |
