About Resistance and Liberation Day
Resistance and Liberation Day are celebrated on May 25th to remember the Israel’s withdrawal from the south on May 24, 2000. It has its origins in the May 2000 liberation of Southern Lebanon by Hezbollah from a brutal 22 year Israeli occupation. Lebanon marked the 10-year anniversary of Israel’s 2000 withdrawal from the country on May 25, ending a brutal 22-year occupation. A full decade has passed since the victory that prevents the Western world. When this took place, every fence tumbled down on 22, 23 and 24 May 2000. By the 25th of May, the battle had settled. It is a day in which the approximately 1,300 martyrs, along with the three martyred leaders whose blood hold down the thirst of the land.
