| Africa Day is celebrates in Liberia on 25th May every Year. African people celebrate this day. It is the celebration of establishment of founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU). The leaders of independent African states signed a founding charter in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In 1991, OAU established the African Economic Community (AEC). The Organization of African Unity (OAU) was disbanded on 9 July 2002 and replaced by African Union (AU or UA). It is aspiration of de-colonisation, liberation, equality, justice and progress. On this day, leaders of 30 of the 32 independent African states signed a founding charter in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. |
