Some of the countries IWD has the equivalent status of Mother’s Day. The children give small presents to their mothers and grandmothers. The annual celebration of Internationa Women’s Day is marked on March 8. It is the day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women. Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. This day lost its political flavor, and became an occasion for men to express their love to the women around them in a way somewhat similar to Mother’s Day and St Valentine’s Day.
