Irrespective of the country, religions, traditions, this day is celebrated. It is the first day of the New Year and the preceding day is Dec, 31. All countries are using Gregorian calendar as the main calendar, except Israel and it is the day declared as public holiday most of the countries. It is the common day and common holiday for most of the world. For this day they purchase new garments. On this day they exchanged gifts among the dear and near ones. They decorate houses also. At midnight, people wish each other “Happy New Year” and celebrate it with lavish feasts and music. |
