| August Bank Holiday is celebrated on August 3rd annually. It is one of the major celebrations in the Montserrat. Montserrat is British overseas territory located in the Leeward Islands. Christopher Columbus gave Montserrat its name on his second voyage to the New World in 1493. Its Georgian era capital city of Plymouth was destroyed by the eruption of dormant Soufriere Hills volcano on July 18, 1995. |
