| Emancipation Day is celebrated in various locations throught the Montserrat. It is the biggest party in Montserrat, on the First Monday in August. This day marks the abolition of slavery by the British in 1834. The celebrations go on for a week and the entire island. There are beach parties, picnics and barbecues, music and dance. It’s non-stop entertainment for the entire family. |
