It marks the day; When the South African Defence Force attacked a SWAPO refugee camp at Cassinga in southern Angola. The Battle of Cassinga was a controversial South African airborne attack on a South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) base located at the former town of Cassinga, Angola. It was the South African Army’s first major air assault. |
