| Heroe’s Day or National Heroes Day may refer to a number of commemorations of national heroes in different countries. It the anniversary of their great deeds that made them heroes. It is national holiday in Namibia and the member of the United Nations. In Namibia Heroes day is celebrated on 26th of August annually. It marks the beginning of the armed struggle during the Namibian War of Independence. Namibian War of Independence known as guerrilla war which is fought against South Africa, organized by the nationalist South-West Africa People’s Organization. Hundreds of people annually gather to watch leaders, commemorate veterans of the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN), SWAPO's military wing during the War. |
