| There are more than 50 festivals celebrated in Nepal every year. New Year is also known as “Navavarsha” in Nepal, celebtated on 14 Apr every Year. According to Nepal official calendar it begins from the first day of the first month Baisakh. This is very first day, which usually falls in the second week of April. People go for picnics, get-together and outdoors sports. The Nepalese New Year falls in mid-April. New Year’s Day is an official holiday in Nepal. On this day, Nepalis visit the Pashupatinath temple to take a bath in the holy Bagmati River. On this day, they wear new clothes and get good food to eat and participate in illuminated bustling meals to celebrate the New Year. Nepalese people hope that the New Year will bring joy and happiness to their lives. |
