| An area in southwestern Asia whose sovereignty is disputed between Pakistan and India. Kashmir, which has been divided between Pakistan and India since Independence in 1947, continues be the main contentious issue between the two countries. Kashmir Solidarity Day has been celebrated on 5 February each year since 1990. Pakistan Government responded by declaring the day public holiday. Pakistan officially observes February 5 as the Kashmir Solidarity day every year. |
