| The event was attended by hundreds of people who crowded the main lobby of the War Memorial Building to honor the heroism and sacrifices of these soldiers who later joined the resistance movement against the Japanese forces in the Philippines. April 9th 1942, when the last desperate defence of the Bataan peninsula by American and Philippine troops is honored. The survivors of this bloody World War Two slaughter certainly have reason too celebrate and apart of this the day of remembrance is an occasion for speeches about honor and freedom. Once again pay tribute to the courage and loyalty of these of our World War II veterans and those who have gone before them, whose gallant stand on Bataan serves to remind us of the value of freedom and democracy. |
