| Revolution Day of the Sudan is celebrated on 30th June each year. Revolution Day is a public holiday in Sudan. Independence Day of the Sudan is celebrated on 1st January. On June 30, 1952, a group of young army officers in the "Free Officers Movement " led by Mahammad Naquib, Gamal Abdel Nasser, Abdel Hakim Anner and Anwar Al Sadat forced Farouk l, the last ruling King of Egypt, to help in a military meeting. Revolution Day is one of the major festivals in Sudan. |
