| About Constitution Day |
| Constitution Day in South Korea is held on July 17, the day that the Korean Constitution was proclaimed in 1948. Constitution Day is a holiday to honour the constitution of a country. In 1948, a constitution demarcates South Korea from North Korea. Day is often celebrated on the anniversary of the signing, promulgation or adoption of the constitution, or in some cases, to commemorate the change to constitutional monarchy. Beginning in 2008, Constitution Day in South Korea will no longer be a day off for workers though still a day of commemoration. |
