| About Statehood Day |
| Statehood Day is a holiday that occurs every year on June 25 in Slovenia to commemorate the country's declaration of independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. The Belokranjski Club has extended an open invitation to everyone to celebrate the 16th Anniversary of the Statehood of the Republic of Slovenia, at the Club's picnic Sunday, June 24, at Slovenska Pristava. Several Slovenian groups are working together to plan an enjoyable program for the day, including Consul General of Slovenia, Dr. Zvone Žigon, the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame, Slovenska Pristava, the new Slovenian youth group (so new it does not have a name yet), and the Belokranjski Club. |
